I don’t think today could’ve started off worse, I went to the gym and could barely run because my knee feels extremely stiff and is swelling a little bit, so when I move onto weights I’m a little over half a circuit and I get a call from work saying I was meant to be in, except I wasn’t in yesterday when they decided I was supposed to be in today and no one told me. So I promised I’d get in for 12 and I ran home, abandoning the gym and frantically getting ready just to get another call saying it wasn’t that busy so they don’t need me.
So now I feel a bit shit, I’ve only done half a work out and I’ve got a huge blister on the bottom of my foot. I guess its a good thing I’m not in work because my knee is still hurting and working in a kids shoe shop requires you to go up and down stairs at least 2/3 times per customer.

… I suppose, I don’t know if its not using this blog or all the last minute exam prep stuff but I’ve really lost motivation for health/fitness. I still go to the gym three times a week (used to be 4 but I work most weekends now) and my eating habits are mainly healthy (except recently my snacks have been less healthy than they should be.) So I’m going to start using this blog again in order to try and draw from tumblrs motivation.
why do i feel embarrassed when i have a shitty run? (like to a point where i contemplated not even writing about yesterday’s run because i didn’t want to be a “disappointment”)
or when i choose the elliptical for cardio when i couldn’t/cannot run?
why do i make an effort not to write “toned” anywhere on my blog because of the backlash that word has?
So I’m not the only one? It’s gotten really out of hand, I think. The pro-ED community post pics of (photoshopped) thin girls, idolising them, saying they want to be like them, etc. Then the healthy community steps in, offering comfort to those who feel ugly thanks to society — or so I thought.
Turns out, there’s no difference. We post photos of picture-perfect fit girls, ‘toned’ yet skinny, with ‘just the right amount of curves’, supposedly opposed to stick-thin models, when really, the fit girls are just planks with muscles. We look at a photo of a girl in sports bra and teeny tiny, super-tight shorts, supposedly working out — oh, you know and can bet your ass she was wearing makeup and shit and posing for a fitness photoshoot — and we think, “Oh my god, I want her thighs/arms/shoulders/abs.” We claim to be so accepting, pursuing happiness and health, not a certain look, but in reality we’re no different.
I do follow some quality, for-real health blogs, who don’t constantly post and idolise tiny, ‘toned’ girls, so there is a good part to this community. But yeah, we’ve become a bunch of hypocrites over here.

I got my A-level ICT exam result back today and I’m totally gutted, for more reasons than the result itself.
I’m *trying* to put as much effort as I can into sixth form right now, it is proving difficult with everything that is going on in my home life.
Which is why I’m going to say this blog is not necessarily my top priority right now, so I’m not going to be as active as I’d like to be, I’m sorry about this but my priorities in life are a mess. I can assure you I’ll still maintain my healthy life style - exercising and going to the gym seems to be my only stress relief right now - I just won’t necessarily be blogging about it.
I will still be looming and reblogging when I can, unfortunately over the past few days I’ve only really been on my computer leisurely for less than 2-3 hours.
If this isn’t motivation to shed those extra pounds, I don’t know what is.
